I remember when Google introduced the first version of Chrome. Google Chrome, inarguably, is the most widely used internet browser-open source or otherwise. You can find Brave's source code (available under the Mozilla Public License) in its extensive GitHub repositories (there are 140 repos as of this writing). The opt-in micro-payment system to support content creators has an unclear pathway to get your payments to your intended recipient.Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript and a co-founder of the Mozilla Foundation, leads the Brave project as the CEO and a co-founder. The Brave browser was created with the goal of blocking all but user-approved advertisements and website trackers. This article introduces seven open source browsers, summarizes their features, and shares how you can contribute to them. Those two are extremely well known but are not the only open source browsers available. Then Mozilla's introduction of Firefox, followed by Google's release of Chrome, sparked a revolution in open source internet browsers. For many years, IE was the standard browser for Microsoft's Windows operating system, while Safari (also closed source) was the default browser for MacOS. Be mindful it can take a few days or weeks as they handle requests for everyone.Open source web browsers have come a long way since Microsoft dominated the web browser market with its closed source Internet Explorer (IE). If you kind of go through all that and know you’re in a supported region, have nothing blocking, and all that stuff…then next part you’d do is submit a ticket at and the team will get to you ASAP. So Time Zone, Language, and IP all should be showing the same area. And it’s also important you know like if your computer says you’re English-US but you’re in India-US, it will be seeing United States for Locale but then India IP address and you get nothing. So little things like that I’m asking to rule out or not. Also, if you have anything that is stopping notifications from Brave, you won’t earn money because it won’t be able to display ads. ![]() Also important to note is if your device Locale doesn’t match with your IP address (which is why ask about VPN), then you won’t earn BAT from ads and can get your account flagged. Those are some baseline things to figure out. Since you haven’t mentioned, I’m guessing it’s not telling you that you’ve been flagged?.Are you using the most recent version of Brave?.If you go to does it show things available in your region?.If you go to brave://rewards/ and then click on 30-day Ads History, do ads show up? If so, do they say Viewed?.Where do you live? (what country/region?).Nothing has changed in that area since march. So if they were going to be forcing you to verify your identity and all, they would just be paying directly to Brave Wallet. We would need to KYC/AML your address and may also need a money transmitter license to do so. We’re looking at the decentralization process for Brave ads rewards as part of Themisīrave Wallet is a self custody wallet and therefore we cannot currently pay to it for the user rev-share for ads. The step for going to an exchange is required for AML/KYC reasons. When you verify with an exchange, your vBAT gets deposited there and converted to real BAT. LN doesn’t help, nodes must be licensed MSBs or MTLs which means they will have to KYC for AML and sanctionsīAT Rewards come in the form of virtual BAT (vBAT) until you verify with an exchange. Doesn’t help with compliance, nothing does. Themis => decentralized ad buyer performance verification. Otherwise they would have moved into THEMIS and all. ![]() Brave doesn’t want to worry about MSB/MTL and don’t want to have to KYC and AML. And they don’t plan on making it a requirement at all. As we cleared up, the verification is required IF you are using Uphold or Gemini. ![]() I think you might just be confused and/or you misread what was said. I think if you review your processes, you’ll find that is now a requirement.īrave support confirmed this in a recent email to me.
